Charles Hayes joins Laeceum as a Senior Adviser

Charles Hayes will play a key role in supporting Laeceum’s SME Data & Analytics capability with focus on the Propensity Modelling service following 9 years at Depfa Bank and FMS-SG as the Head of Portfolio Management. Hayes was responsible for unwinding €100bn of legacy assets and preserving value.

“Charles brings unique and extensive experience in designing, building and applying proprietary risk decisioning and analytical tools to support strategy execution,” said Ravi Chauhan, Laeceum Founder & MD.

Charles Hayes said, “The Laeceum team have made significant progress in the development and application of novel machine learning powered forward-looking analytical tools trained on the UK SME market. I look forward to extending the use cases into bank and non-bank lending situations with a range of credit risk analysis, underwriting and NPL analytical tools.”

Prior to FMS-SG and Depfa Bank, Hayes held senior management roles at HVB Bank and Bankers Trust in credit, structured products and derivatives trading and structuring. He holds an M.A fom Oxford University.

Ellie is a part-time Analyst at Laeceum and is currently a third-year undergraduate in Human, Social and Political Sciences at the University of Cambridge. 

Ellie has a keen interest in corporate development and plays a lead role in building out Laeceum’s Advisory capability and university outreach and third sector engagement efforts.

Ellie has prior experience as a Consultant at DeHavilland and attended Harvard’s Model United Nations programme.
